The real origin of the name Marchione is ignored even if it is not possible to & ograve; exclude that it is a toponym attributable to the castle of the same name and / or to an important district located in the countryside of Conversano (Ba). The vine has medium vigor and productivity; high and constant over the years.
Characteristics : it has a medium, pentagonal, five-lobed leaf. It has long, medium-compact clusters with one or two wings. It has medium-large spheroidal-shaped berries with a consistent skin. From the vine we obtain a wine with an intense straw yellow color; it has fresh and intense aromas, of delicate aromaticity; and strong floral imprint, with returns of aromatic herbs and ripe yellow-fleshed fruits. The taste is full, with good acidity and slightly aromatic, of medium persistence.
